I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace. com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
References :
I understand the problem with meds and weight gain. Going through it myself. However, I would not risk any supplement etc. This is because they may have something in them that could trigger a manic state. Supplements are not required to be tested by the FDA and we don't always know what is in these supplements and what might trigger an exacerbation in our symptoms. I do agree with the other poster about exercise. It is sooooo hard to do. I seriously have problems with staying motivated but my 15 year old (also bipolar) excercises everyday and she actually weighs less AND she eats whatever she wants. She just gets a lot of excercise and it works. Hope that helps.
References :
Losing weight is a matter of calories out > calories in.

No pill is going to do anything more then motivate you, eat several small meals a day with some snacks in between and add in some cardio to your routine, a 500 calorie deficit should amount to a pound of fat burned per week.

Good luck!
References :
You're only 13. You may not have reached your final height and full size, and dieting could seriously disrupt your development.

However, if you're determined to loose 3 kilos then the above will not stop you. Take part in team sports (where you feel safer than on your own) and eat healthily afterwards with the team.

When you come home from school, try to eat something with fresh vegetables and have some fruit afterwards if you're still hungry. Pot noodles do not have all the vitamins you need. Try a jacket potato and some tuna, or maybe pasta with sauce.
References :
What weight loss supplements can people with Bipolar condition take?
I would like to know specifically what supplements to help aid weight loss for Bipolar people on weight gaining Bipolar medication (which slows the metabolism and increases appetitite)

I already know of Green Tea to speed up metabolism and suppress appetite and Acai Berry DOES help you look a bit thinner in the face and relieves minimal bloat if taken moderately.

What other supplements are safe?

I want as much help as i can get!
Thanks!

Weight loss/keeping healthy tips for a 13yr old?
Ok, first off I’m not massively overweight maybe like 3 kilos (6 lbs) or something lol.

I know that sounds like nothing to worry about, but I want to lose it and to just get healthy generally.

I need to know some ways I can exercise at home without injuring myself:) I can’t go for walks or anything because, well, we have some creeps living in our neighborhood. I can take my dog every so often (I feel safer) but only if shes had a huge walk the day before because otherwise she gets really excited and pulls me along (shes enormous).

And we can’t get equipment because my parents just bought a house and were kinda short of money at the moment.

Also, is my diet healthy enough? I eat cereal for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch and fruit and nuts or something for recess, that’s healthy I know, but after school I’ll come home and have a pot noodle and later some biscuits or something, so how can I fix that?

Anyway, sorry it’s so long, and I hope it’s understandable. Thanks

Oh, and please don’t tell me to not be worried about my weight at this age, it’s less about that and more about wanting to be healthy.
